CVI - Double Page Spread
Here we have the CVI of the double page spread which means that the magazine wants the reader to focus on this first thing when they turn to the double page spread. As you can see here it is an old electronic keyboard which is black and white with a greyish background. This could connote music, electronic music, musician who play on the keyboard or favourite music.
Headline - Double Page Spread
Here we have the headline of the double page spread.
The Font is bold and red as well as the Font size is is bigger than the article to make the reader read the headline first before the article.
This could connote that there is passion in the article and so it would be a good read.
It is located across both of the double pages starting on the left page midway and then with three lines going down ending on the right page about a quarter into the right page of the double page spread.
Page Number - Double Page Spread
Here we have the page number of the double page spread which is at the top left of the double page.
This is a bleed as it is right on the edge of the magazine.
You can see that the font size of the page number is vastly bigger that the article that is underneath it, this is to give it more emphasis.
It is also has a different font than the article which is Brush Script which is quite posh.
This could connote that it is quite hard to read the magazine.
Double Page Spread
Here we have a double page spread of a electronic magazine talking about the electronic keyboard.
Here you can see a lot of the layout which the magazine had chosen for this magazine as it is promoting something that is quite important in electronic music before the DJ set to be easy use like it is now.
Splash 2 - Electronic Magazine
Here we have another splash on the front cover of the magazine which is also a bleed as it is on the very edge of the magazine and it is telling the reader the second thing that they should read when they buy this magazine.
It is a blue circle as a background and a yellow bold plus text with the rest of the text in white with major names and numbers being bold to stand out more in the circle.
Splash - Electronic Magazine
Here we have a slash which is the main front page story of the magazine.
You can see this on the front cover of this magazine as it is telling the reader about something in the magazine that the reader will want to read so it will persuade them to buy it.
This in front of the CVI so it is the second thing the magazine want the audience to see after the CVI.
Here we can see big bold letters that are black on a yellow rectangle backgrounds for each letter it is say underworld.
-Which could connote death or the after life or a name of a band. under underworld there is a small sentence going more in depth of what it is about which is called a call out however not for a image.

Magazine Cover - Slices
Here is one of the leading magazines of electronic magazine called slices which is made by electronic beats which is sponsored by T-Mobile this magazine focuses on the electronic viewers appeal. you can see that it is a very simple front page which is not including a lot of colours and all focusing on the CVI of the man and the bowling ball with a face on it.

How to Communicate the Connotations
Some of the connotations will be fairly easy to put towards the students who will buy the magazine as I want them to connote about their future and what they want to do I can connote this by publishing an article or double page spread about universities and how they can apply to them and giving them help to get into a good university, I can connote this on the front cover of the magazine of having a small photo of a university with anchorage underneath it to get them interested into the article.
The next connotation I should think about is keeping the fashion in the magazine I can do this by the CVI (Centre of Visual Interest) which can also connote being out going and bold and able to try something new this will grab the most attention as being the CVI however it will connote to the readers that whatever the CVI is wearing is the latest fashion at the moment we can also go onto the a little more buy having a clothes section on the cover with anchorage about the top 10 dresses for girls or top 10 New Era hats for boys.
To connote being rebellious I thought that what I can do to connote this to the audience by having graffiti in the background behind the CVI connoting to the audience about rebellious behaviour.
For technology I can connote this by a picture of the latest iPhone 5 with anchorage about the article in the magazine for example the new features of apples latest product.
To be able to connote about the social ladder and how the magazine can show to the audience that being popular is very important is a delicate matter to connote however I can do this by a picture of people laughing and say in anchorage how this can benefit you by having a article in the magazine.
Connotations to Communicate with Audience
Conotations
Connotations is what makes the reader think when they are looking at a image in the magazine the sorts of connotations that I want to do in my magazine are being BOLD and outgoing and not to be afraid to try something new.
Also I would like to make them think of the future of their life and what they want to do when they are older and I would like them to think about new technology and what's new.
The magazine cover has go to show them that it is a easy ready and is not to sophisticated but to also show them that being rebellious a little bit can get you somewhere and to connote to be high on the social scale so they buy the magazine as we can show them how to do that.
Audience Profile For My Reader
They are age range from 16 to 20
They like to spend money on clothes
They keep up to fashion
They like new technology
They do not have a job
They buy all the latest new games
They play on consoles
They are in education
They like to go to party's
The people who would likely buy this magazine their social values are most likely Hedonists ( to play, and enjoy life now)
They are Achievers who want to achieve something in their life as they are young people they will want to have a good future.
On the Jicnar scale it could range from C1 to D as what their parents are working at the moment but some older clients may be D because it is their first job.

College Magazine Front Cover - Research
Here is another College magazine as you can see they are still sticking to their CVI. The woman who is the CVI is wearing a red and white shirt with "I love (as a heart shape) smu" and some Jean shorts, she is also a blonde and is smiling at the audience. The Red could connote boldness of the magazine and that it is very out going the background shows a very clean place with trees and grass even though it is blurry it can connote that the place is a very safe place to be if you are going to the college that they are at. Again with the College magazine they have chosen the focus of the CVI in the middle and the coverlines are either on the left or the right of the mgazine making sure you can see the CVI they have also put the bar code in the bottom right of the magazine. The Women is smiling which connotes that she is happy and enjoying her life at the moment or that she is enjoying the college that she is at.
College Magazine Front Cover - Reasearch
Here is also another College Magazine which are made in the USA as you can see it is quite similar to the other magazine it has the CVI in the middle of the magazine however this time it is a woman who has blonde hair wearing a green jumper and a flower shirt underneath, she is also wearing hoop earrings and make up. The clothes that she is wearing are very dull this can connote that the magazine is not very stylish and is the magazine is not a very interesting read however the hoop rings and make up can connote that there is a little bit of style in the magazine where it may be worth a read. The Masthead is in a dark yellow which is also going behind the CVI which the magazine is still trying to focus all on her. The headlines are all on the left and right which some are in a WoB but they vary colours making the headlines pop out to the reader. The bar code is also on the bottom right of the magazine cover. The background of the magazine is a very dull and is looking at the door this connotes that the background is trying to focus all on the CVI and to get the reader focused on her.

College Magazine Front Cover - Research
This magazine cover is for College lifestyle magazine the Centre of visual interest (CVI) is an African American male in a black Coat with a white shirt, a cross as a necklace and holding some Law, Business and society. The Cross Necklace could connote that the magazine is very religious and are Christians. The Books in the males hand can connote that the magazine is a very educational magazine and can help you in your college/university years. Also the black coat and white shirt and jeans can connote that the magazine is very stylish and up to date with fashion at the moment. The Masthead is in a dingy green colour which is very bold but it is going behind the CVI so people more focus on it. The magazine has San Serif which could connote that the magazine is not very hard to read and that it doesn't take someone of high intelligence to read it. The magazine cover does have Ascenders in the main title of the articles to make them stand out and people to notice them, the titles of article (Headline) are also in the same dingy green colour as the masthead. The layout of this magazine is very simple as you have you CVI in the middle which the magazine want all readers to grab attention to him with the masthead behind the CVI and the bar code and articles tiles are all on the left and right of the CVI trying not to go vote so the magazine is trying to make you look at the CVI straight away and that's the first thing you see. There is a Wob (whit text on a black or coloured background) this does work as it makes the reader see the headline however where the magazine has made the text quite thin with "The Ultimate Break Escape" it is quite hard to see the writing.
