College Magazine Front Cover - Research

This magazine cover is for College lifestyle magazine the Centre of visual interest (CVI) is an African American male in a black Coat with a white shirt, a cross as a necklace and holding some Law, Business and society. The Cross Necklace could connote that the magazine is very religious and are Christians. The Books in the males hand can connote that the magazine is a very educational magazine and can help you in your college/university years. Also the black coat and white shirt and jeans can connote that the magazine is very stylish and up to date with fashion at the moment. The Masthead is in a dingy green colour which is very bold but it is going behind the CVI so people more focus on it. The magazine has San Serif which could connote that the magazine is not very hard to read and that it doesn't take someone of  high intelligence to read it. The magazine cover does have Ascenders in the main title of the articles to make them stand out and people to notice them, the titles of article (Headline) are also in the same dingy green colour as the masthead. The layout of this magazine is very simple as you have you CVI in the middle which the magazine want all readers to grab attention to him with the masthead behind the CVI and the bar code and articles tiles are all on the left and right of the CVI trying not to go vote so the magazine is trying to make you look at the CVI straight away and that's the first thing you see. There is a Wob (whit text on a black or coloured background) this does work as it makes the reader see the headline however where the magazine has made the text quite thin with "The Ultimate Break Escape" it is quite hard to see the writing.
